Lanzarote is an island that inspires many artists. You can find a lot of exhibitions
in public and private art galleries as well as in bars and
restaurants. Here a selection of the most interesting ones
of this month:
Magma
The German artist Christian Honerkamp is a well-known resident
of the island and after his big exhibition in Teguise last
year he now presents his colourful paintings in Tías.
The title Magma reflects the outburst of colours and strength
in his pictures. In the Ermita de San Antonio in Tías,
until 7th of February. Monday to Friday 17 to 20 h, Saturday
10 to 14 h.
Polis
The local photographer Rubén Acosta shows photographs
in Puerto Calero that were part of the national exhibition
Photoespaña in Madrid last year. During a trip to
China he combined documental and artistic photography and
opens to the watcher a window to a culture full of construction
and strange contrasts. In the Art Gallery of Puerto Calero,
until end of March, Monday to Friday, 16 to 21 h, Saturday
